History, Moral Authority, Goals, Tactics

Islam is the religion of peace.
Now that we've gotten the humourous introduction out of the way, let's review a recent history of peaceful diplomacy between us and those of the Islamic faith.
- November, 1979: Iranian "students" attack and seize US sovereign territory, the US Embassy in Tehran, and hold US citizens hostage for 444 days.
- April, 1983: A truck bomb is detonated on US sovereign territory, the US Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, killing 63 people.
- October, 1983: A truck bomb kills 241 US servicemen when it is exploded in the US Marine compound in Beirut.
- December, 1983: A truck bomb attacks US sovereign territory, the US Embassy in Kuwait.
- September, 1984: Another truck bomb attacks the US Embassy in Beirut.
- April, 1985: Madrid, Spain. A bomb is detonated in a restaurant known to be frequented by US servicemen.
- August, 1985: Rhein-Main, Germany. A car bomb kills 22 at the main gate of the US Air Force Base.
- October, 1985: The cruise ship, Achille Lauro is hijacked and an aged, infirm American in a wheelchair is singled out and murdered.
- April, 1986: TWA flight 840 is bombed, killing four.
- February, 1988: Pan Am flight 103 is bombed over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 259.
- February, 1993: A truck bomb kills six US citizens and injures over 1000 in the World Trade Center, New York City, NY, USA.
- November, 1995: A car bomb kills seven US servicemen and women at a US Military complex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
- June, 1996: A truck bomb kills 19 US servicemen and injures over 500 others at the Khobar Towers, a US Air Force barracks in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
